James Weaver is an Emmy, Golden Globe and PGA Award-winning producer and president of Point Grey Pictures, a multi-genre film and television production company founded with Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg. The company is known for its dynamic, authentic, and passionate storytelling and has earned more than $1 billion in global box office revenue. Weaver and Point Grey have produced a wide range of successful films, from indie productions to blockbusters.
Weaver’s production of the Apple TV+ comedy series The Studio received 23 nominations at the 77th Annual Emmy Awards and 13 wins, including Best Comedy Series. The series also earned Golden Globe Awards for Best Television Series – Musical or Comedy, a Directors Guild of America Award, a Producers Guild of America Award, Critics' Choice Awards for Best Comedy Series, a Television Critics Association Award for Outstanding Achievement in Comedy and was named a Top 10 AFI TV Program of the Year. The show is currently in production for Season 2.
Upcoming projects include the sequel to Nickelodeon’s animated film Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, in 2027; Tangles, based on Sarah Levitt's acclaimed 2010 graphic novel/memoir Tangles: A Story About Alzheimer's, My Mother and Me which is being adapted into an animated feature produced by Monarch Media, Point Grey Pictures, Lylas Pictures and Giant Ant with Leah Nelson of Giant Ant directing; and an untitled romantic comedy movie for Amazon MGM Studios starring Cameron Diaz and Stephen Merchant.
In the film space, Weaver has produced the CGI film Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem; Joy Ride (Lionsgate); the horror-thriller Cobweb (Lionsgate); Miller’s Girl (Lionsgate); An American Pickle (HBO Max); Good Boys (Universal), a box-office hit; Long Shot (Lionsgate); the Academy Award-nominated The Disaster Artist; as well as Blockers, the Neighbors franchise, Sausage Party, The Night Before, The Interview, and This Is the End.
On the television front, Weaver produced Amazon’s Emmy-nominated adult animated series Invincible, the Paramount+ series Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Amazon’s Sausage Party: Foodtopia. He served as executive producer for Hulu's Emmy-winning series Pam & Tommy, Amazon’s The Boys, which releases its fifth season on April 8, as well as its spinoffs Gen V and animated series Diabolical; HBO Max’s Santa Inc., Peacock’s Paul T Goldman, Hulu’s Future Man, Showtime’s Black Monday and AMC's Preacher.
